"So, what happened before i came?" Suika asked.
 
"I already told you..." Patchouli reminded her.
 
"Yeah, but i forgot..."
 
"It was only two seconds ago!!"
 
"Well, it was long! sheesh!"
 
 
"Well, first, Marissa stole my books again, then--" Patchouli said.
 
"Wait."
 
"What?"
 
"Is this the long version? Cause i want the short version."
 
"Well, it was the short version. Anyway, Then i asked for them back--"
 
"Wait."
 
"What?"
 
"You sure this is the short version?"
 
"Yes. Anyway, when i did, she gave them to me, but--"
 
"Wait."
 
"What now!?"
 
"Can you shorten it? it seems pretty long to me...."
 
"I didnt even get a sentence out!"
 
"Well, i was just saying!"
 
"Ok!Anyway, she gave them to me--"
 
"Wait."
 
"WHAT?"

"Okay, both of you, shut up!" Remilia yelled. "Patchouli got her books stolen, we're getting them back, ok!? Now, can we all be quiet untill we get to the mansion!?"

They were in silence, the only sound the leaves crunching under their feet, untill....
 
"Patch started it..."
 
"No, you did!"
 
While they kept bickering, Remilia picked up two plants, which she knew would induce sleep once eaten, which she knew from reading.
 
"Hey," Remilia said.
 
"Both of you c'mere for a second...."

Flandre looked at everyone at the table. Remilia and Patchouli left 30 minutes ago, and they weren't back yet. Since Remilia left her in charge, she might as well have some fun....
 
"Hey, sakuya!" Flandre said.
 
"What?" Sakuya responded.
 
"Juggle some knives!"
 
"You're crazy."
 
"Hey, Remilia left me in charge! Start!"
 
Sakuya groaned, produced 3 knives, and juggled them.
 
"Good, good....now juggle more!"
 
Sakuya did as instructed. She told herself somehow, she would kill Flandre.Somehow. Or not.
 
"K, thats enough!"
 
Sakuya let the knives drop down on the table, the pointed edges stuck in the table.
 
"Hm....Hey, Meiling!"
 
"Y-yes?" she asked.
 
"Fight with sakuya!"
 
"H-huh?"
 
"You heard me!"
 
"You have GOT to be..."Sakuya muttered, standing on the table. Meiling followed.
 
"Readyyyyy....Fight!" Flandre said.
 
Before meiling took one step, Sakuya said,"Give up."
 
"I give up!"
 
"Aw, cmon! that was short!"
 
"Welp, battles over."
 
"Wait...i want you two to..."
 
Suddenly, remilia burst in, dragging Suika and patchouli.
 
"Yeah, THAT shut them up...." She was muttering.
 
"Remilia!" all of them yelled.
 
"Hey, i--"
 
Suika and Patchouli then woke up.
 
"Huh...? What happened...." Suika asked.
 
Sakuya produced 3 knives and held them to Suika's neck.
 
"Should i take care of her, miss?" She asked.
 
"Eep!" Suika said.
 
"Shes fine. Leave her be." Remilia ordered.
 
Suika stuck out her tounge, as sakuya put away her knives.
 
"Hey sis!" Flandre said, hugging Remilia.
 
"He--" Remilia noticed the foot prints, amd the knives in the table.
 
"who did that!?!?"
 
"Um.....i have to gaurd the mansion. i think i hear someone..." Meiling said, running out.
 
Sakuya looked at the table.
"........."
 
She then left in an instant, using her time manipulation powers.
 
Remilia sighed, then sat in a chair.
 
"Ok, listen up, heres the plan...."
 
"WOW.i.am.SO.tired. i need to sleep." Suika said.
 
".....Theres a bed next door, sleep there."
 
"YAY!" Suika said, running to it.
 
"I may as well sleep also. May i?" Patchouli asked. Remilia gave her apporval, then Patch walked off.
 
"Alright, flandre, lets sleep....We have much to do tommorow...." Remilia said.
 
"K, sis!"
 
They each walked off to their rooms, then went to sleep.
 
"you think its safe to go in now?" Meiling asked Sakuya, who was next to her.
 
"Lemme check." Sakuya said. she used her time manipulation powers to go inside the mansion. In the 40 seconds, she was there again,, with a knife through her arm, and she was significantly bloodied.
 
".....n-no..." She said, fainting, falling to the ground.
 
Meiling whistled as if nothing happened.

It was midnight, and people were gathered around a table in the scarlet devil mansion.Flandre, Remilia's sister, Meiling, the gaurd, Patchouli, and Sakuya, the head maid, were all there.

"Now, I called you all here because we need to find a way so Marissa will stop coming in here and stealing my books,"Patchouli said. "Any ideas?"

"Look,"Flandre said."I'd love to help and all,but....uh...gravity's pulling me to my room....ooooo....."She started moving her chair towards the direction of her room.

"Flandre, get back..."Remilia said.

Flandre mumbled, but she went back to the table with her chair.

"Can i use the same excuse if gravity's pulling me to my bed...."

"No,"Sakuya said.

"AS i was saying!any ideas?"Patchoulu asked, trying to return on topic.

"We can just kill her...."Remilia suggested.

"No, no ki--"before Patchouli could finish, this sent a lot of suggestions out, not letting her talk.

"Trap her in a box!"

"Slice her head off!"

"Blind and deafen her!"

"Knock her out!"

"KILL IT WITH FIRE!"

Patchouli sighed.This would be a loooonnngggg day...

Chapter 2.

After a while, the commotion calmed down.

"Ok. I made a plan, while you all were talking..."Patchouli said.

"Go on...."Remilia said.

"We'll follow Marissa.Learn all her weaknesses and stuff."

"Simple.i like it.But who's going with you?"

"well...."She had to admit, she hadn't thought that through.

"I'll go with you.Flandre, you act responsibly."

"No promises!"Flandre said.

Later, after preparing themselves, Patchouli and Remilia headed out to a forest.Not long after, they spotted Marissa.She had stopped to pick up a mushroom, then ate it, humming after.

"Ugh, thats disgusting, she didn't even--"Remilia said.

Patchouli shushed her, then both of them kept following. After a while, though, Marissa stopped suddenly.

"Huh...?"Said patchouli, puzzled.

"Trying to follow me, eh...?well, HERE!"Marissa said.

"Wha--"

seconds later, a ton of branches fell around Patchouli and Remilia.

"No!how'd you know we were here!?"

"Oh, i heard that vampire.now, if you'll excuse me, i have some books to steal!Yours, of course!"she said, using magic to light the branches on fire.

"And just so you don't magic your way outta this...."After saying that, a barrier formed over the lighted branches, trapping Remilia and Patchouli in.With that, Marissa flew off.

"Argh!how can we get out now!?" Patchouli exclaimed.

"I...i don't know...."Remilia muttered.Smoke was forming, so the two had to crawl to get fresh air.

"We're going to  die now, thanks to you!"Patchouli said angrily.

Patchouli was right, Remilia reasoned.They would need a miracle...

A two-horned figure jumped behind where Patchouli and Remilia were trapped.Burning branches with a barrier on top making a slim chance for survival!? if that wasn't a test of strength, what was!?So, deciding to be a hero for a little bit, the figure started pulling the branches away, ignoring the pain she felt when she held onto the branches for too long.After 30 seconds, she had created a pathway so that both Patchouli and Remilia could get out."C'mon!"She beckoned.

After a while, both crawled out, unharmed.coughing, but unharmed.

Patchouli looked at their rescuer, noticing that it was actually Suika Ibuki.

"uff, thanks Suika..."Patchouli said, coughing.

"You're welcome!"She said, drinking from her gourd."But,uh, care to tell me whats going on?"

Patchouli explained everything that happened starting from Marissa stealing her books, and Suika only asked a few questions.

"Wow, sounds tough.looks like you need the help of an Oni!Like me!"Suika said.

"Well, if you would like to help us....sure,"Patchouli said.

"It couldn't hurt...."Remilia said.

"Cool!then lets go!"Suika said, excited, walking.

"Patchouli, lets follow...."

And so the three walked, Suika drinking from her gourd, and Remilia and Patchouli coughing, yet following.At least they were alive.

The same, however, could not be said for the surrounding trees.Whoops....

There is a large mansion, in an area far away from ours, called Gensokyo. This is called the scarlet devil mansion, owned by a vampire named Remilia Scarlet. There is a commotion comming from it, though.

"GET BACK HERE WITH MY BOOKS!" a voice yelled from a window, one of the few the mansion has.

"No thanks, i think i'll keep them!" another voice said.

A girl suddenly flew out,flying on a broom, various spells flying after her. However, another girl suddenly jumped and grabbed onto it.

"Sorry, Patchouli, but this is where you get off!"the girl flying the broom said.

"No!not before i--" the girl, Patchouli, barely had time to finish her sentence before the girl flew and slammed Patchouli  on a tree, making her fall off.

"Thanks for the books, bye!"the girl said, her voice fading as she flew away.

"Ma....Marissa..."Patchouli muttered, before passing out.

Patchouli awoke back in her library, looking at the mess. She figured meiling, the girl guarding the mansion's gate, carried her back here.
Great, it'll take weeks to clean this up...and then it might get messed up again... Patchouli thought to herself.She coughed, five times. Great, her asthma was starting up again. No matter, if she was to read, she might as well start cleaning......

It took hours, but she finally cleaned up the library. sure, while she was carrying a stack of books, her coughing caused her to drop the stack and make them come tumbling down on her, but, it was done, at least, and she could finally read.She opened up a book, but a knock on the door stopped her. She sighed, and closed her book.

"Come in..."she said.

The door opened, and a human popped her head through.

"Well hello heavy sleeper! What happened, i heard a commotion and then saw meiling carry you."

"Marissa stole some of my books....again...."She said, coughing after.

"Ah, that must suck..." The human said.She walked in, and surprisingly had wings.She was a vampire, named Remilia scarlet, the owner of the mansion.

"Yeah....i bet shes never gonna give them back..."

"Well, did you ask?"

"Huh?"

"Yeah, i mean, that's the obvious way to get the books back."

"Well....if it works..."

"Then its settled!go ask her tomorrow!"

Meh, what could it hurt... Patchouli thought to herself.



~~~The Next Day....~~~

Patchouli knocked on Marissa's door.

"Just a minute..." After a while, the door was opened, Marissa in the doorway.

"Wel--oh.hey Patchouli."

"Hi,"Patchouli said."I want my books back."

"Hmmm....."Marissa thought."Well....OK!"

That was....easy!Patchouli thought.

Patchouli, after finally getting her books back, returned to her library, to see how everything was. However....the books were gone, and even more after that! There was a note, though. it read....
