Well, I have bad news. Last month, my DVD drive broke. Not a huge problem except that I need a DVD drive to boot my good computer. Now, a DVD drive is 80 dollars. I have about 50 cents. My parents said they'd get a new one, so I'd been using the crappy old computer. Today, the hard drive on said crapfest decided to die after some 8-10 years. I'm currently typing on my PS3. This means fewer visits to GGZ until we get the DVD drive. Also, the PS3 does not support Meebo or eBuddy, so no IM at all. Cheers, Un-Fu.

Does it boot windows off the CD? If not (i hope to god not) then someone with no how could easily fix your pc. If its checking the DVD drive first but its not there, it will cry. Tell it to check the harddrive first and your sorted.

Nice try Jay, but that's the first thing I checked. Anyway, we got the DVD drive, so now I'm just waiting on the recovery disc from Dell. No idea how long that'll take.

well,at least you didn't have to rely on an old MAC system,or a old Windows'95...That be 10 times harder to use then a PS3.

Actually a legacy Windows system would be easier to set up in my opinion.

    September 08, 2010, 09:46:48 PM
  • Eamon: Well, that and the fact that newbies can't find a place to fit in, so they leave, bored with the site.

  • Rune: Probably.
